Day 1: The Cliffs of Moher and The Burren
We set off from Dublin and travel west through the heart of Ireland toward County Clare. Our first major stop is the Cliffs of Moher, rising more than 200 metres above the Atlantic. The view stretches across the Aran Islands on a clear day, and even in mist, the cliffs hold a power that silences conversation.
You can walk the main paths, visit O’Brien’s Tower, or find a quieter vantage point away from the crowds. I will guide you toward the best views and share the legends that swirl around these cliffs — from long-lost lovers to shipwrecks and sea spirits.
From there, we continue through The Burren, a landscape of limestone pavements dotted with wildflowers and ancient tombs. Stops can include the Poulnabrone Dolmen and the Aillwee Caves, depending on interest and time.
We finish the day in Galway, Ireland’s festival city, with its cobbled streets and music drifting from every corner. Overnight stay in Galway or nearby.
Day 2: Connemara – Mountains, Lakes, and Stone Walls
Heading northwest from Galway, the scenery opens into the rugged beauty of Connemara. This region is famous for its mountains, boglands, and countless lakes, framed by stone walls that trace the hillsides. It feels remote yet welcoming, a place where Irish and English are spoken side by side.
Our first stop is Kylemore Abbey, a 19th-century castle built beside a lake and now home to Benedictine nuns. The walled gardens and peaceful paths make it an ideal place to linger.
We then drive through the Twelve Bens mountains and along the shores of Killary Harbour, Ireland’s only fjord. Depending on your interests, we can take a short boat trip, visit a sheep farm, or enjoy a quiet walk by the water.
The night can be spent in Westport, a lively coastal town known for its Georgian charm, good food, and traditional music.
Day 3: Achill Island and the Atlantic Edge
Our final day brings us to Achill Island, connected to the mainland by bridge. This is one of Ireland’s most striking landscapes — cliffs, beaches, and Atlantic views that seem endless. We will drive the Atlantic Drive, stopping at Keem Bay, a crescent of white sand framed by cliffs.
Along the way, I will share stories of island life, from fishing and farming to the artists and writers who found inspiration here. There is time for a walk on the beach, a coffee overlooking the sea, and quiet moments to simply take it all in before our return journey east.
We travel back toward Dublin in the late afternoon, arriving in the evening.
