Wicklow is known as the ‘Garden of Ireland’ and on this tour you’ll enjoy a glimpse of just why that is…
Drive through the Wicklow Mountains with stunning scenery, peat bogs, a virtual array of colours that make for many a photo opportunity along the way.
Stop off at Glendalough, a monastic city and firm favourite with visitors from overseas and locals in Ireland alike as it’s a super spot for walking and exploring and dates back to the 6th century by St Kevin. We’ll visit the Upper Lake, home to a cave where St Kevin spent seven years and is close by the famous round tower which makes for an impressive sight.
Continuing on this tour we take in the Avoca Hand Weavers, the original mill dating back to 1723 and the oldest weavers in Ireland. A tour of the mill is enjoyable followed by lunch in the adjoining restaurant and a trip through the craft shop, a real treat for shoppers wishing to pick up some of Ireland’s most famous brands.
Final stop of this day is Powerscourt House and Waterfall, one of the most beautifully scenic locations on the island of Ireland situated just outside of the pretty village of Enniskerry.
This trip is a real treat for the senses with scenery that will leave you speechless, history that comes alive in fantastic surroundings and the delights of Irish crafts at their finest.
Tip for you, wear comfy shoes as you will want to spend some time walking to fully enjoy this day.
