7 Day wild Atlantic way tour from Dublin and more.
Taking in the Spectacular Wild Atlantic way and some of the most beautiful and Iconic places to visit in Ireland. Sites such as the Cliffs of Moher, Dingle Peninsula, Ring of Kerry, Rock of Cashel and much more.
Day 1.
We will Leave Dublin at an arranged time.
On this day we will visit the Magnificent Rock of Cashel, Also known as St Patrick’s Rock. The Rock of Cashel Has stunning medieval buildings. Cormac’s Chapple and a Round Tower, High Cross and one of the finest collections of Celtic Art in The world.
Blarney Castle and Gardens. Kiss the Blarney Stone and gain the gift of the Gab and explore the beautiful Gardens at Blarney. The Current Castle dates back the 15th Century and was built by the MacCarthy of Muskerry Dynasty. The Gardens are also beautiful and also have a Poison Garden.
Overnight in the beautiful Fishing Village of Kinsale in CO. Cork. Kinsale not only has a beautiful Harbour but excellent restaurants and traditional pubs that some of the best traditional Musicians.
Day 2
On the way to either destination, we will explore parts of the beautiful West Cork coastline,
If gardens are your interest we can visit the beautiful Garnish Island and Seal Island. Garnish Island is one of The Hidden Gems in West Cork. You will take a boat out to the Island where you will explore these Stunning Gardens that hold Amazing Shrubs and very impressive trees along with a beautiful Italian Garden and an Original Martello Tower.
Or we can drive through Healy Pass. Taking in the Stunning scenery on offer on the Beara peninsula. This Road is not for the Fainthearted, Not to worry as we will be driving. Many amazing Switchbacks on this road but around every corner is more breathtaking Scenery,
Overnight in Killarney. Killarney is a great location to stay in with a great selection of local restaurants that serve the best local produce which is freshly cooked. Killarney also has some of the best traditional pubs in Ireland with Trad music and the Craic is always fun.
Day 3. We Will tour the beautiful Dingle peninsula. Spectacular scenery and so much more.
Visit The Famous Beehive Huts. The Beehive Huts are located on the Peninsula and date back to approximately 2000BC originally and are shaped like a Beehive. The Beehive huts you see today date back to around 1200. There are also pet farms on the route and you might even get a chance to Hold a Lamb.
Drive through beautiful Villages on Route hugging the Atlantic Coast and Coming across Filming locations for Star Wars and Ryans Daughter. Hidden Beaches, Excellent local craft producers
Visit the Blasket Centre and learn about the Blasket Islands. The Blasket Islands where eventually abandoned in 1954. The History and the people that inhabited the Island and culture and stories are brought to life at the Blasket Centre and The Centre also offers stunning views of The Great Blasket Islands.
Of Course on each day I will be happy to recommend a lunch stop at a Local restaurant that serves Local produce.
Overnight in Killarney.
Day 4. Ring of Kerry.
Explore the beautiful Ring of Kerry. Over 111 miles of stunning coastline taking in the breathtaking wild Atlantic way.
This drive Through the iconic Ring of Kerry offers not only spectacular views of the Wild Atlantic way coastline. We will be driving around the Iveragh Peninsula passing through beautiful Villages and Towns such as Killorglin, Sneem, Waterville, Chaersiveen. There is also an option for a sheepdog demonstration, We will visit The Kerry Cliffs which offer spectacular views of Skellig Michael Which is one of 3 Unesco World Heritage sites on the island of Ireland and a Film Location for Star wars. There are options to visit Muckross House and Gardens, Stop off and view the Killarney Lakes from Ladies View and the beautiful Views from Molls Gap and visit the beautiful Torc Waterfall. We will also visit a local craft shop on Route.
Overnight in Killarney.
Day 5. We will leave the beautiful County of Kerry and drive to take the Tarbert Car Ferry, I find with taking the Car Ferry it takes quite a lot of time off your Journey to Co. Clare which gives us more time to explore this beautiful area.
We will drive along the beautiful wild Atlantic way towards Spanish point where the Spanish armada ran aground in 1588. The town of Spanish point gets its name after Some of the Soldiers and Sailors were buried hereafter they died following the Shipwreck.
Your next stop will be the Majestic Cliffs of Moher in CO. Clare. I have many different ways to see the Cliffs and to avoid the crowds. The Cliffs of Moher are one of the Most visited Tourist sites in Ireland and get their name off Moher Tower. Just over 214 Meters in Height the Cliffs offer Stunning views of the Atlantic Coastline.
We will then drive along the Burren coastal route taking in stunning scenery. We will be Hugging the Atlantic while driving this beautiful Road. I like to get out and explore the Burren coastal route and have come across at least one hidden gem on my travels.
Overnight in the Fun City of Galway. Galway City is a lively City with excellent local restaurants and offers great nightlife and street performers and excellent trad Music.
Day 6. We will explore Connemara Mountains. We will visit Kylemore Abbey and Gardens. Kylemore Abbey was built in the 19th Century by Mitchell Henry and was taking over by Benedictine Nuns after they had to flee Ypres During world war 1, Drive the Sky Road which offers spectacular scenery again this drive is not for the fainthearted but we will take care of all the driving so you just sit back and admire the sheer beauty on this spectacular drive.
There is also an option for for a sheep dog demonstration on this day in the Joyce sheepdog demonstration which is located in the heart of a beautiful Valley. The owner and operator Joe also had a small role in the film Marley and Me starring Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston.
Overnight in Galway City.
Day 7. We will drive back towards Dublin with a visit to Clonmacnoise monastic site which is located on the banks of Ireland’s largest river The Shannon. St Ciaran Founded the Monastery in the 6th Century and Holds some of the Finest examples of High crosses in Ireland. We will visit Birr Castle and Gardens and science museum. The Castle itself is still lived in today by the Parson family who have inhabited the Castle since the 17th century and have an amazing History. Many members of the Parson family became famous inventors which is why there is an excellent Science museum , The Largest Telescope in the world was built in the 1840’s and located at Birr Castle which drew in some of the most famous Astronomers in the World. From there you will visit the oldest Pub in Ireland and possibly the world Sean’s Bar in Athlone, Thought to date back to 900AD and is located in the beautiful Town of Athlone Sean’s Bar is well worth a visit. From there we will return you to your accommodation in Dublin.
